On August 13, 2009, Kevin spent the afternoon at the University of Alberta attending the Heritage Youth Researcher Summer (HYRS) Program Finale and the Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science, and Technology (WISEST) Celebration of Research. HYRS and WISEST are both summer programs designed to give students experience in various fields of research before they enter their last year of high school.
Kevin toured the lab Chelsea Donelon, a HYRS participant, worked in over the summer. He also met with constituents Finola Hackett and Sophie Ru at the WISEST poster presentation, where they were proudly showing off their summer research projects.
In the picture to the right, Chelsea Donelon is busy explaining her research to Kevin.
